I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, very sick, and Corinne was my nurse many days. Corinne was extraordinary. She made me feel better in many ways. She would open my blinds so I wouldn't be in the dark. She encouraged me, starting each morning with "good morning" and a smile and leave each day with blessing me before leaving. She always talked to me about what she was doing or what else needed to be done, explaining things and always making sure she was in the room when the doctor came in and would better explain what they said. Any time she gave me medicines, she would tell me what they were for and told me to tell her if I felt a certain way or tell me if I should feel different. Corinne often had students with her and I would always hear her teaching them things like to wear gloves, wash their hands, or what she was going to do. She would listen to my concerns, even if they were not related to the hospital. I had to get wound care every day. Corinne always watched for the nurses to come to my room, but told me to call her if she was not there when they came in. She would hold my hand and make me calmer which helped my pain. Corinne was encouraging and made me comfortable.
