From the onset of receiving care by Sam, he was open and accommodating to me and my dad. My dad came to EH on Sunday and I just met Sam today. He has been consistently courteous and caring toward my family members and me. Whenever I asked a question or make a suggestion he responds positively to my request. For example, I informed him of some incorrect medication orders and he respectfully reviewed that information. Because he sought input from the pharmacy while addressing an issue, I trust his performance and work ethic. I asked him to have the hospitalist change some orders and he let me know he'd "look into it right away." He listened to my concerns, researched my issues, and kept my needs as a priority. I sense he's confident about his career choice and performance as a nurse. Most importantly, he made us feel welcomed and honored our humanity by showing us genuine care and compassion.
