My father was admitted to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center. During my Dad's stay in the hospital, he suffered from major panic attacks. The experience was terrifying for him, for my mom and for me as we could do nothing but sit and watch him suffer. Luckily, Patsy was there to help us. She took such amazing care of my dad. She was there for him every time he had a panic attack. She just knew how to talk to him. She held him and comforted him and let him know that everything was going to be all right. He trusted her, and she never let him down.
She made my father feel as though he was her only patient and that she had all the time in the world to care for him. Even though she was busy, she held his hand, listened to him and provided the comfort he needed. It was so obvious that Patsy truly cared for us. She even left her lunch hour once because my father needed her. She was the only one who really made him feel safe and the only one who could talk him down, out of an attack. She once mentioned to us that she treats all of her patients like they are her family, and that was evident to us.
Not only did she help my dad but she also helped my mom and me. She hugged us and reassured us whenever we were struggling to hold it all together. I told Patsy before we left, with tears in my eyes (I'm choked up now just thinking about it), that we couldn't have gotten through this experience without her—and I meant every word.
