I was rushed to the hospital; while jogging I was struck by a car. I was in pretty bad shape.
As a nurse myself, I am very aware of the type of care I am receiving. I remember being cared for by an excellent nurse, Lucia Lovas. She was so kind and patient, and her clinical skills and nursing judgement were top notch. I remember feeling so well cared for. She seemed to always be there; checking on me, asking me about my pain, making me comfortable, keeping me medicated, and providing education. I don't think I ever needed to use my call light.
She was amazing and that is no exaggeration. I asked her to come back just to be my nurse again. I was there for a week. She set the bar very high for the nurses to follow.
Lucia went over and beyond for me, and I really appreciated all her hard work and caring. I thanked her that day, but I also wanted to make sure that Cross Country knows what a good nurse they have in her.
