Dana is one of the nurses that make such an impact on your hospital stay that even after you get home, you can't stop thinking about her and all the things she did to make your situation better.
My epidural didn't work and was removed, but pain medicine wasn't ordered beforehand. No one could get in touch with the doctor for the order (over 2.5 hours!) I finally called Dana and was sobbing; within 15 minutes or so she got an order for a PCA and had it up and running right then. I don't remember a lot about it, but my husband said she was a miracle worker.
A few nights later, we could not get my new ostomy to stop leaking; we changed it at least 5 times. Dana came over and spent about 30-45 minutes working on it. It was the only one I've ever had that didn't leak. She is heaven-sent. The best nurse.
