Over the last several days, as I have visited my sister, I have witnessed Hope provide extraordinary care on more than one occasion. Besides her expertise as a labor and delivery nurse, she has shown great patience and compassion towards my sister. She took the time to get to know the whole family and throughout the night would stop in and check on everyone to make sure we were all doing okay. Through all of this, she got to know a little bit more about us and we got to know a little bit more about her and her family. We all, especially K, felt a connection and bond with her by the time her shift was over. She has definitely gone above and beyond what is expected of her normal job specifications and therefore I feel she is an extraordinary nurse.
One of the specific situations (there were many to choose from) that I feel clearly demonstrates how Hope made a meaningful difference in K's care is when she stopped by to visit her next shift after my sister had her baby. When she came in to visit she genuinely wanted to check on K and see how she was doing, we were all glad to see her when she came by.
With the bond that had formed during her previous shift, K knew that she could ask Hope questions and that Hope would give honest answers. As they talked and questions got asked, one of the things I loved the most is that Hope shared some of her own personal experiences on topics that have been a huge worry for K. With her sharing these personal experiences she helped give K ways to cope with things that she might experience in the future, as well as helped her realize that the worries she was feeling are normal.
As a witness to this special visit from Hope, I can honestly tell you that it was greatly appreciated by K and all the visitors in the room. She helped us feel more relaxed and not quite so anxious. Hearing her experiences gave me little ways that I can help be a support to K in the weeks and months to come.
Hope has truly been a blessing for everyone during this hospital stay. She has gone above and beyond and truly been extraordinary on several occasions. I am so glad that she is part of the nursing staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center.

She was way more than just a nurse. On multiple occasions, she calmed my nerves, validated my feelings and treated me like a cared for friend, not just a random patient. She had me, my mom and sisters in tears from laughing and in tears for her overwhelming kindness. I am tearing up now as I am writing this! I don't know where she came from, but she has been my saving grace and angel as I've been in this hospital. I wish there was more I could say to show just how much I appreciate Hope and how amazing she is. I will never forget her or the amazing experience I had here because of her.
