Brooke was nominated by a fellow coworker, palliative care nurse, for being "an amazing advocate for her dying patient." She said, "As a new nurse, this is not always easy to do." Brooke made the patient's comfort her priority, making sure the patient was receiving the correct dosage of medication and informing the patient's doctor that their oxygen needed to be weaned down. Brooke also stayed in touch with her coworker during the day to help maintain the patient's comfort.
