When my mother first arrived here, she was placed in an isolation room due to an infection. To say the least, she was not a "happy camper" and in need of attention and kindness. While many wonderful staff cared for my mother, Donna was her nurse for three consecutive days and was the perfect tonic for my mother and her ills.
Over the years, I have spent an inordinate amount of time in different hospitals with several ailing family members. Many nurses have wonderful bedside manners while others are terrific at dispensing care. Donna is the rare individual who excels at both. Although my mother was not Donna's only patient, she was made to feel like she was.
One example of many, was when Donna remedied my mother's migraine with ice-filled cooling packs. She brought one for her head and another for her neck when we had merely expected a simple disposable ice pack. Donna listened and delivered personalized care, always going that extra mile to ensure my mother had everything she needed as quickly as possible and always with a smile.
Community Medical Center has transformed into a facility where people can be confident that they will receive the quality care they deserve. It is a phenomenal transformation that I did not expect based on prior experiences. Keep up the terrific work you all do for your patients and the community.
