I have spent many days within the confines of St. Luke's with various problems that return me to the hospital time after time and it is the greatness of this hospital that brings me back here and the expertise of the staff that makes each day bearable. I was the fortunate one to be assigned to Amber to guide me through the days we were paired as patient and caregiver. Amber was extraordinary in every way I could possibly think of as a nurse trying to make multiple people happy and healthy at the same time. This is an accomplishment that Amber has mastered in the relatively short time she has been a RN. My sickness and other GI related problems require a different kind of attention than many other illnesses and Amber made me feel secure about her understanding of my problem almost immediately.
Amber does all the little things that make recovery faster and the hospital stay a much more tolerable experience. She is polite, courteous and respectful when she talks to her patients and carries a smile all day long. Just being around her makes me feel like I'm healing a little faster. It is so important to have a positive attitude while trying to recuperate from any illness and Amber carries and passes on that attitude every day. Her smile is contagious and makes her patients feel cared for in more than just a medical way.
Amber is professional in her discussions when talking to me as a patient as she was with other patients I heard her talking to. She is very knowledgeable about her medical terminology and gave me a secure feeling of being "safe" under her care. It is so important for a patient to feel they are being guided in the right direction and Amber left me with that feeling.
