Mary Martinelli has consistently demonstrated a work ethic that exceeds expectation. Mary has undertaken enormous responsibilities on a daily basis for this unit and our staff. Mary ensures our patients safety and wellbeing by accomplishing what the average human cannot.
I have seen Mary precepting a nurse while being the charge nurse. This means that the preceptee gets the most difficult patients! So on top of having the most difficult patients and a nurse to train, she has the responsibility of all the nurses on the floor to keep track of, help and assign.
In addition, Mary has taken patients to the OR while she has been charge, so as not to overwhelm the nurses under her charge for the day. Mary is so amazing; everyone loves her-the patients, the doctors, the nurses. We are blessed to have her on L&D.
