Robert Massey is an exemplary nurse. He is an extremely knowledgeable advocate for our computer charting system as well as patient care. Very recently during his shift a young mother's daughter was being air lifted to The Children's Hospital in Memphis. The young mother was unsure of how she would travel to Memphis to be with her child because she knew her vehicle wouldn't make it.
The young mother states: "we stood there in front of the hospital as the helicopter lifted; feeling frightened, speechless, helpless, and we were literally alone or so we thought. Our family and church family are very small so we didn't know exactly where to turn."
Robert asked if the young mother would mind riding with him to Memphis and he would be glad to carry her to the hospital. The young mother wanted to thank Robert for being there for her and her daughter, for taking the time to help her when she had no idea what she would do.
