Nurse Elena made a point to address my needs and make sure my questions were answered. As we dealt with our baby in NICU, nurse Elena was positive the entire time and encouraged us to also be positive as parents. Elena took initiative by providing my famiy with important information for dealing with our baby's needs while in NICU. She also made sure all my medicine was given and fully explained (including interactions or possible ones while I was breastfeeding). She showed sympathy as we dealt with our daughter's NICU stay, sharing her own experience as a mother. Elena came all the way to the NICU to tell us when her shift ended and to check on us. This made us feel special and more than just a patient.
