I am so grateful to all the staff that was here 7/24 and each day after to care for my daughter and deliver my granddaughter safely into this world. Everyone matters and so many people were responsible to ensure my daughter's safety. I especially wish to mention RN, Melissa Miller, because my daughter shared with me her importance the morning of the 24th.
I woke to a phone call from family stating my brother-in-law was not breathing. My husband & I immediately left to go to his home to learn all had been done but he had passed away - age 65. Shortly after my daughter was told about her Uncle's passing, she began to have labor pains. When we arrived every bed, doctor, nurse was busy and we were told they would get to us ASAP. In a wheelchair my daughter labored but it was apparent everyone was working quickly and hard - even the environmental staff! Delivery was normal and quick and natural. Melissa held my daughter's hand and made an immediate connection that made her feel safe.
Just as quick as my granddaughter came into this world, I thought my daughter may leave this world. After giving birth with the delivery of her placenta, her uterus came out. The doctor made quick decisions and was able to get help and saved her life! I've never been so grateful and asked to hug him and expressed my gratitude personally. All the staff helped and gave the necessary care but later my daughter shared how much she believed God sent Melissa and the staff at this hospital to save her. Immediately Melissa made a connection and calmed her and gave her a special feeling of being safe. She continued to care for her and no amount of "stars" or "daisies" are enough in our opinion!
Melissa should be covered in "Daisies". She gave my daughter strength and confidence to stay calm when all was not. She made my daughter feel safe. Melissa made a hard moment easier by taking time to hold her hand. By staying calm and encouraging all would be well!
We thank everyone, but especially Melissa!
