We can't say enough about Ann Lee as a nurse, a fellow worker and a person. She is very efficient in everything she does. She is thoughtful and a very compassionate person. Nothing seems to rattle her. She remains calm in a constant state of incoming patients. She holds her colleagues professionally accountable in a manner hard to argue with.

Ann is an outstanding nurse with many years of experience. She is a patient advocate in every sense of the word. She routinely cares for a diverse patient group on 4E, the satellite unit of 4S. These patients are pre and post procedure patients who are very short stay (usually 4-6 hours). Ann is exemplary in the execution of the nursing process. I have observed how she interacts with patients and families and she always has time to talk and explain the plan of care to them in a calm and respectful manner - exactly how I would want to be treated as a patient. She is "present" for her patients' emotional as well as medical needs and she never rushes her patients.

She is methodical as a charge nurse on 4E with a great sense of humor and aplomb. She approaches this role in a very conscientious, respectful and professional manner. The day prior to a patient's arrival on 4E, Ann reviews the patient list, makes appropriate room assignments and reviews any special needs the patient might have. Ann attends the AM huddle with interventional radiology, further learning about the proposed interventions for the 4E patient population.

Ann serves as a mentor to RNs assigned to work on 4E, assisting with problem solving around patient situations. She has developed a strong positive relationship with the MDs, PAs, nurses and techs in radiology, hepatology and nephrology. When I get report from her, our patients have been in very safe hands, and she never leaves loose ends. She demonstrates outstanding preparation for patient discharge. Ann is terrific to be around and has an admirable work ethic. She is a true DAISY!
