Nomination received August 2012:
Ms. Lisa has been the most compassionate nurse and person that I have encountered since I was admitted to Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. I see that she cares for my well-being and her focus is not just to get through her shift but also to make a difference in a life. I am thankful that she has been brought into my life even though it is only for a short period. -CC, patient
Nomination received May 2013:
In May 2013, I was in Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler for what was supposed to be a day surgery. However, due to the surgery being more involved than anticipated, my doctor determined that I needed to stay overnight in the hospital. I did not make it to my room until around 5 pm. Lisa came on at 7 pm that night. Each time she entered my room, she was genuinely interested in how I was doing and what she could do to make things better and easier for me. She never acted as if she had anything else pressing to do (although we all know how pressed nurses are). She took interest in me as a person, inquiring about my family, the history that led to me needing a surgery such as this, as well as making certain my husband was comfortable as well. The level of care, both personal and professional, was well above my expectations (and I have very high expectations for my care - ask anyone who knows me). Lisa exemplifies what a nurse should be. It is obvious that she considers her profession a true life's calling. I was very privileged to have Lisa care for me during my recuperation in the hospital. Respectfully submitted. -KW, patient
