Heather has worked on 3RC since 1998 when she started as a nursing assistant. As most DAISYs, she was nominated by the family member of a patient who wrote:

My daughter-in-law had a spinal fusion and rodding recently. It was a very major surgery with a difficult and painful recovery. You have many excellent nurses who cared for my daughter-in-law, however we wish to nominate Heather who was not only a very competent and knowledgeable nurse, but went over and beyond to encourage, accommodate and teach. As a nurse of 36 years, I have high expectations of care for family members. Heather worked with us as a family unit to better understand specific concerns and was able to keep the pain under control. She was a bright ray of sunshine during a difficult week. Please commend her for her excellent work!
