Ally was always so warm and friendly. She always had a smile and could make our grandmother laugh. That was not always an easy task. My grandmother was a straight shooter and always appreciated good communication. Ally could do that in such a compassionate way. Ally also took great care of our family with her compassion, support, and communication. Ally was able to ease our suffering and decrease our anxiety. When you can do that for both the patient and family it's an amazing thing. We also shared many wonderful moments together and Ally will always be remembered for that.
Ally did an amazing job working with the doctor. He was wonderful and they were an incredible team. Our grandmother was self-conscious about her hair and she always had her wig on. I had never seen her without it. One day I walked into the room and Ally was brushing her hair. She was listening to a spiritual CD that the doctor bought for her. He also bought her the CD player. What team does that? It brought tears to my eyes to see such compassion and love. That shows such trust. This became the norm. Ally would contact me when the doctor arrived so we could make sure we were a part of their conversations because our grandmother wanted our support during that time. If you entered the room you would always think Ally was part of our family. You couldn't make the distinction.
Ally will always be part of my grandmother's story. My family's story. We all shared some wonderful moments together and Ally helped us through some difficult times. So today I want to thank Ally and all of the wonderful nurses who cared for us and touched our hearts. Ally you will always be part of our family and are welcome in our home any time.
