I have had many nurses during my stay here, but Nicole was not just my nurse. She was like a friend to me when I really needed one. I had been through one of the worst nights of my life, and I really didn't have anyone there for me. I had no help. By morning time, I was feeling scared, alone, in lots of pain and very uncomfortable. At this point, I just wanted to check out.
But then the shift change happened, and I got the gift of Nurse Nicole Zimmer for the day shift. She came to my room and saw my condition right away. With no questions and no hesitation, she just jumped into nurse mode and within less than one hour she had me comfortable, clean, washed up, fed and medicated. And she even took the time to wipe away my tears, told me not to worry anymore and that she was not going to let me have any pain today so that I could catch up on the sleep I missed out on last night. She told me that she would be just outside the door and that whenever I needed her to just call for her and she would be there.
For three solid days, Nicole did everything under the sun for me and she did everything humanly possible to make sure that all of my medications were on time. At no time did I have any pain while I was in Nicole's care. I thank God for bringing her to me when I had no one there for me. She was my rock, and I do so thank her for everything she did for me.
