Today a patient came in with her granddaughter for a cardiac procedure. She was anxious and refused to register until someone explained her procedure in detail. I called the Cardiac Cath Lab, and Nurse Regina answered. Within minutes she was at the patient's side calming and thoroughly explaining everything. The patient was happy and agreed to register. I am also reminded of a prior incident. A very elderly patient arrived by himself, apparently, his daughter dropped him off and left. It was determined he was at the wrong hospital for his CCL procedure. Again, Regina came out to see the patient. She also spoke to the patient's daughter via phone. Regina made arrangements for the patient to be transported to the correct hospital. Talk about going above and beyond!
