...Linda was nominated not only for her skill as a Surgical Nurse, but also for her compassionate and professional nature. Always friendly, honest, hard-working, kind, caring, and considerate of others, coworkers recognize her as being what a nurse should be.
"Linda is a definite example of a enthusiastic, team player of the highest calibur," says Mike Outlaw, Director, Surgical Services. "She is respected by all team members and she exemplifies professionalism, the best nursing assessment skills, and sound judgement."
Linda has been a part of the team at Shriners Hospitals for Children - St. Louis for 28 years. A native of St. Louis, she received her degree from Jewish Hospital School of Nursing and ended up working for BJC right out of school. Prior to joining the Shriners team, Linda volunteered as a school nurse for a few years hosting Scoliosis Screenings for students. When asked about being honored with the DAISY Award, this was her response:
"It was a surprise," says Mansfield. "It was a truly humbling experience."
