Michael Manley exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as the Nurses, Physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team recognize as an outstanding role model.

Michael has developed great skills that touch his patients and he consistently receives kudos from his patients and families. Michael is a positive example to those around him. He volunteered to be the primary preceptor for a new graduate nurse. His orientee constantly raves about his nursing skills and compassion. Michael has become the point person for ultrasound IV insertion teaching, and has formed classes to teach other nurses Ultrasound IV techniques.

Michael exemplifies the mission of UWMC by providing exceptional patient and family care in an environment of education and innovation. Michael is a strong role model and very deserving of the Emergency Department DAISY Award.
