Melinda was nominated by her charge nurse. Melinda was the primary RN caring for a first time mom who was being induced due to fetal demise. Melinda cared for the patient, and her family, with extraordinary professionalism and deep compassion. When the patient still had not delivered the next day, they asked if Melinda could please be their RN. Melinda continued to care for the patient and family through the difficult delivery of her stillborn infant. The family told the charge RN how much Melinda did for them and how compassionate her care was. There is no doubt that Melinda truly made an extraordinary difference in the life of this patient and her family.
