Teresa was an absolute pleasure to work with when we were in the hospital delivering our daughter. We arrived Sunday night and Teresa took over first thing the next morning. She spent the entire day answering questions about just about everything. My wife had a tough time delivering our first child (epidural did not fully take) and Teresa was an advocate the entire day for #2. She slowly and calmly answered any and all questions we had regarding my wife's care and stayed with my wife right up until my wife was taken in for her C-section. I know my wife was extraordinarily uncomfortable, had questions about her treatment, and was concerned about the lack of progress where the delivery was concerned. Every issue we had, Teresa had an answer/remedy for. There wasn't a time we felt unsure, uninformed, or unsafe the entire day with Teresa. She shared relevant stories from her work life, shared bits and pieces with us about her family, and proactively reached out to the doctor as my wife's situation changed throughout the day. There was not a point at which we did not feel comfortable and confident under her more than capable care.
My wife suffers from scoliosis which made the epidural tricky, to say the least. Teresa conferred with the anesthesia provider, made sure my wife was totally informed and took many different steps throughout the day (post epidural) to be sure my wife was comfortable and that the anesthesia was having the desired effect. Her knowledge around positioning and ways to relieve pressure and stress turned a situation my wife originally was less than enthused about (to say the least) into a situation she has raved about (rave may be a bit too celebratory).
To top everything off, Teresa was so intertwined and involved in our care that she tracked us down when she returned for her next shift to check on my wife's wellbeing, see how the rest of the delivery went, and meet our new baby girl. We really cannot say enough about the positive experience Teresa provided to us through delivery. She was there every step of the way, kept us informed of every change in my wife's condition, and prepared both of us for everything we were experiencing from both factual, and even more importantly, an emotional standpoint.
We cannot thank her enough for everything. If you could refer family and friends to a specific nurse we would recommend her every time!!! We will truly never forget her and all that she did for us to be sure the day we had been waiting for was a total and complete success!!!
