Kim is not only an amazing provider of medical care, going above and beyond to make sure D was comfortable, she is also a model leader and just a wonderful human being. Her interaction with the other staff would have never given me the impression she was the supervisor. She asked where she was needed and stepped in where she could, never stepping on toes or taking over. She didn't rush, because they were busy, her and another nurse were an efficient team that I would have thought had been choreographed. After knee surgery, it was hard for D to move or be moved, but the way they gave him time to acclimate to the pain of switching beds before proceeding made the transition tolerable and seamless. If that were not enough for us to recognize her, she then made sure both of us had everything we needed all night. We are very far from home and sent here without warning from another hospital for care that exceeded their capabilities. We were not prepared and had nothing with us for an extended stay. Kim saw my clothes hanging to dry in the bathroom, where I had washed them out and asked me if it would be okay if she took them home and washed them for me. When she returned them, she included some toiletries that she thought I would need. I really can't say enough about Kim. She has made a difficult time into a bearable situation, with her experience, understanding, and kindness. I am actually on an advisory council board for our local hospital, so I am aware of the struggles that professionals can incur. We hope you are aware of what a remarkable representative of your facility you have in Kim.
