Sarah went to LA Fitness at 5 am for a quick workout prior to starting her 7 am shift of work at West Chester Hospital. Little did she know that she was going to help save a life before she left the fitness center. She heard a loud thud while she was working out and looked around and found a man convulsing on the ground. He quickly turned blue and had agonal respirations. She started CPR, delegated that 911 be called and asked for the AED, administered a shock and the patient regained consciousness and was alert and oriented upon arrival of the EMS.
The man stated, "Sarah saved my life. She immediately jumped into action and administered CPR when I suffered a cardiac arrest. She called for the AED and once it was in place, administered a shock. Her quick actions brought me back from a sudden death event before the EMS arrived. Her quick actions prevented brain damage and deficits. I am blessed with the ability to live a normal life, thanks to Sarah. I am eternally grateful!
