Suzy demonstrates how one's compassion can become a passion. Her devotion to her nursing staff and the example she sets, has developed a thriving and motivated nursing practice.
Her selflessness was most recently seen by her staff through her leadership during Hurricane Harvey. She stayed at the hospital for the duration of the storm and subsequent flooding. She ensured that staff arrived at the hospital safely, provided emotional support for those who had personal issues going on during the storm, and ensured we had safe transportation home afterward. She was positive, encouraging, and supportive throughout the crisis and stayed on site to support the staff several days after she could safely get home, despite her elderly mother suffering catastrophic flooding and complete loss of her home. Once she could get home, after 5 and ½ days, she spent her days off and evenings working at her mother's home and still came to work upbeat, supporting and caring for the staff whose homes had flooded. Suzy is the most diligent, effective and compassionate leader I have experienced.
