When I came to 6E involuntarily, I was angry and combative. Laura Key recognized the heart of the problem was the loss of my son. My defensive attitude was a result of me attempting to grieve for my son, in my own way. To work my way home, Laura told me very frankly but with empathy and compassion how I needed to stop shooting myself in the foot. She told me what I needed to do, not what I needed to say, in order to make a timely departure from the hospital. I have never had a woman talk to me who had such wisdom and good sense, someone who had the ability to move me in the right direction. Her insight and confidence in my healing process have given me a profound gratitude for her loving care. She has earned the DAISY Award.
