Laura is not just an amazing person but an amazing nurse. I have had the privilege of working with Laura for the last 2 years and I enjoy every moment of it. Not only has her skill improved all of our staff members/physicians on the OB unit but has given us the opportunity to keep infants here longer on the Level 2 side, which is huge when you just delivered your infant, you don't want to be transferred to another hospital.
One example of Laura's talent is when a pre-term infant was brought into the ER. The infant was unresponsive. The OB and ER teams did an amazing job stabilizing the infant and getting a transfer team here. But no one, including the transfer team, could get the infant intubated. After numerous attempts, a nurse suggested that we call Laura. Although Laura was not on call, she left her family get-together and came to the ER with her whole family along for the ride. Laura was able to intubate the infant! Laura shows dedication and passion in every aspect of her job.
