Right from the door Joyce presented herself with a smile and introduced herself. She changed my IV which was hurting very badly. She also got my bed working after several others tried and tried. In addition, she immediately got me all the medications that were required by calling the VA Pharmacy to get the correct dosage and type. She did all of this while helping others and multi-tasking for other patients and never stopped smiling and being kind and most of all compassionate.

Soon after an elderly woman had wandered out in the hall and she simply handled her as if she was her own child or grandmother. Now this act of gentle, loving and respectful nature, can't be purchased in any store or taught in any handbook. Her humanistic acts literally brought tears to my eyes.

I think Joyce is the epitome of what beauty is inside and out. She is like an Angel/Super-Hero! She is not just a great nurse and team mate but an awesome human being with a great smile and my super hero!
