Christina is very deserving of the DAISY Award. One area that I've witnessed exceptional care and compassion is for families during the passing of their loved ones. She ministers to these families by listening, educating, and praying with them. Their anxiety decreases when their understanding increases.
Our unit has received several cards praising the care provided by Christina. Families have requested Christina as the primary RN for a family member. Our patients' families know their loved ones are taken care of because of the extraordinary, compassionate care and the trust that Christina establishes with her patients and their families.
Christina is a role model for MICU. I'm lucky to have such an awesome coworker. Christina is often asked to precept new associates for MICU and 5 North the Medical Stepdown Unit. Her knowledge, compassion, and her ability to be calm when teaching is remarkable. She is an excellent skin care chair for MICU/5 North.
