My mom was admitted to the hospital after a fall in her apartment. After several tests, it was determined that she had had a heart attack. Upon arriving in ICU, we were greeted by Nancy. Nancy immediately demonstrated her caring nature by ensuring my mom and I understood what they were doing step by step. She also figured out pretty quickly that my mom had a sense of humor and ensured the conversations though serious had a light-hearted component to make my mom feel comfortable. She happily put up with mom's teasing and apparently gave it back. She answered all our questions, was attentive and coordinated mom's care given the multitude of specialists involved. She followed up when things we were expecting did not happen. She always provided an explanation and patiently worked to make my mom comfortable and more importantly well taken care of.
