Without reservation, Nurse Pope is "a leader through example" in the field of nursing! His love of nursing and people is exemplified by the loving care and concern for his patients! His compassion, friendliness, care, and concern shine like "a beacon of light" for all to see!
Compassion, warmth, friendliness sprinkled with a good sense of humor leaves a patient feeling "safe and secure". All of the above were witnessed by me as Nurse Pope was shaving my husband's beard at my husband's request. (Over a year's growth!!) Mr. Pope tenderly, and carefully began shaving my husband's beard in stages, making sure he made it as comfortable and not causing my husband any distress. He "gingerly" shaved off his mustache without disturbing any of the medical apparatus associated with my husband's medical equipment. WOW, what a great person in Nurse Pope! In my opinion, Nurse Pope is a true DAISY Nurse.
P.S. Nurse Pope's concern for my husband's medical welfare was witnessed through my husband's entire stay. Always coming in to check to see how he was doing, and if he could do anything for him. Also, following the doctor's orders given during their "rounds" and relating to my husband what the doctors expected of him as a patient. This went on from the time I arrived in the A.M. to the P.M.!
