Tammy shares her vision for the department and is open to suggestions for quality improvement, employee engagement/morale, and process improvements.
Tammy has a very transparent leadership style. She shares her vision for the department and is open to suggestions for quality improvement, employee engagement/morale, and process improvements. We can depend on her to follow up with issues/questions.
Tammy is a huge fan of employee engagement and likes to incorporate her vision along with staff input. She is very passionate about finding ways to get staff involved with policy reviews, quality improvement, recognition, etc. She loves feedback from staff and uses their feedback to improve our department. The staff does not feel like they are just being told how to operate, but are considered as a valued team member. She is a great motivational speaker and I aspire to follow in her footsteps as a leader.
Tammy makes sure to acknowledge and give "kudos" during each staff meeting for going the extra mile for safe practices, being a team player, good catches, etc. She loves to start and end meetings on a positive note and encourages staff to continue to recognize each other via integrity submission and/or emails.
***
Tammy leads by example. She always makes sure that her staff can talk to her about anything. She takes time out of her schedule to resolve any problems that may arise and makes sure that she listens to nurses' concerns and tries to figure out a way to solve the issues, having everyone's best interest in mind.
Tammy always has a smile on her face. Even in tough moments, she makes the worse situations seem fixable. Tammy comes to meetings with a plan and an action to back it up. A real boss lady! She deserves, earned, and shows us daily why she is our director of nursing.
Tammy created an engagement team so that every voice is heard. She knows it takes everyone in every position to work together to get things done. I couldn't think of a more deserving person than Tammy Jones.
