Cindy has a way of putting me at ease and has the personality that is comfortable it allows me to cry in those times when I am crazy with fear and laugh the small things away!
Cindy has been treating me for about 15 years now in Urgent Care. When I was diagnosed with pancreatitis in 2004 it crippled me for a few years, I was in and out of Urgent Care in the worst imaginable pain. Looking back, Cindy is one of the nurses who always tried to help me understand the importance of living for today while taking advantage of all the good days. I actually felt at ease when I would see her working because I knew I would feel safe. She has always had a compassionate caring mannerism that was/is easily noticed in her work.
When I think of Cindy today my thoughts of as a nurse at urgent care have only grown in appreciation. My opinion is that Cindy is exceptional and demonstrates excellence in all her work. I am a patient who values Cindy and continually feels lucky to have her caring for me. She has a way of putting me at ease and has the personality that is comfortable it allows me to cry in those times when I am crazy with fear and laugh the small things away!
A little over a year ago Cindy wrote to my internal medicine doctor to explain the increasingly difficult time they were encountering trying to get IVs in me. Her letter got the process started for a port for me.
Although scared at the process, I am so grateful she was brave enough to approach this conversation with my doctor as it has been 11 months for me and my port and I can now see how badly it was needed.
On Thursday I was standing at the end of the Urgent Care hallway waiting for someone to return in infusion. I had just left the lab where they were unable to draw blood from me. I was scared at the thought of nobody being able to get blood so overwhelmed with it all.
Cindy was headed into someone else's room. She noticed me when she came out of the room and then she noticed I was still standing there. She stopped what she was doing and asked if I was okay. I took one look at her and started to cry. I tried explaining that the lab is no longer able to get blood from me and I need an INR done. She gave me a hug and then said she would be right back. Cindy stopped what she was doing to help me before I knew it she was walking me to the front desk to get me signed in. She then gave me another hug and told me everything would be okay. 15 minutes later I was done. Cindy helped me at a time when I felt lost and alone. I was not a patient at Urgent Care. Cindy saw me and noticed something was not quite right and took the time to make sure I was taken care of.
This is the type of person Cindy is. She is extremely caring and full of compassion. She could have waved and continued with her patients but she took a bad situation for me and turned it completely around.
Thank you Cindy for all you do every day. Your care has always been nothing short of excellent and I appreciate you so much.
