Being an amazing resource and doing anything and everything she can to help out. She detangled, washed, and braided a patient's hair that needed some TLC upon admission. She truly is an exceptional nurse.

Jessie is a wonderfully compassionate caregiver and exemplary nurse interacting with patients and their families in a way that makes them feel safe, supported, and informed. She treats each patient as an individual building rapport with even the most challenging patients. Jessie also builds rapport with other members of the medical team. She is respected by the physicians and all other members of the team.
Jessie is a member of the early mobility task force on SICU and is a strong leader who models best practices and engages her peers to do the same. She has a way of challenging peers to "do the right/best thing" that is supportive and builds community and collaboration.
She is a mentor on SICU. She helps to build a culture of patient-centered care that focuses on early mobility, delirium prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and many other interventions that research supports are integral for improved patient outcomes for ICU survivors.
Jessie attended the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Conference with an interdisciplinary team working to promote optimal patient care and better outcomes for those she serves.

Jessie took a lead on the Delirium Initiative that started on SICU and has been an active member helping to roll that work out to the entire hospital. This work has taken two years of sustained commitment including weekly meetings, presentations, seminars, webinars, data collection, etc. Jessie has worked with informatics staff to establish data collection tools for the Delirium Initiative. She received the Staff Excellence Award for her work on Delirium.
Jessie has dedicated her personal time to the projects above coming in on her days off to attend meetings, perform training sessions, present webinars, and so much more.
