Megan Alexander is an amazing nurse who provided exceptional care to not only our son but to us also. She went above and beyond her role as a nurse. When I expressed concern about breastfeeding and my milk supply she immediately stopped what she was doing and went over tips and tricks to help increase my milk supply. She also made it a point to try to get the lactation consultant to come by.
When the lactation consultant was not able to come, Megan took the time to help with the latch and show me how to know when he had a good latch versus a bad latch. Another way she went above and beyond is by driving rounds with the doctors. We discovered that I was going to be discharged and S needed to stay one more night. Megan advocated for us and spoke to the charge nurse and because of her thoughtfulness my husband and I were able to stay in a transition room until our son got discharged. All these examples just scrape the top of the iceberg. Megan was so attentive and caring to our son and paid attention to the details. She was very patient-centered and will do whatever it takes to ensure that everything is communicated, and all questions are answered on not only the medical side but also the parents. We will forever be grateful for the care and compassion that Megan provided to our family.
