I arrived unresponsive to the ICU and then when I was stable they moved me to my own room on the trauma unit. That is when I met my nurse Melanie James.
Melanie is an asset to that team and made my stay there the best possible. She had a slight sense of humor to lighten the mood to delivering information to me in the best possible way. She made it a point to check on me frequently just to make sure if I needed to use the restroom or to ensure my IV was in correctly. The night I'm referencing I accidentally ripped my IV out and lost my call button. The second night she heard the bed alarm go off, Melanie rushed in in record time. She changed the sheets with a warm welcoming smile. She also made sure the guy was there to set up a new IV and then came right in to give me my medications.
This is just one small example but the entire night I was under her care was the best night. She genuinely cares about her patients. 10/10 would recommend this hospital! I know the nurse Melanie was training will be just as good because she cares about her patients. You can't fake that level of sincerity! Thank you again Melanie you're truly the best.
