Melissa always was compassionate
Melissa Miguel always exhibited the highest standard of professionalism. She was extremely competent and obviously well versed in the wound care procedures needed to address my spouse’s health issue.
Melissa always was courteous and upbeat. She was cheerful, warm, and friendly, and easy to relate to; she inspired trust and confidence. We always felt relaxed and comfortable with her care.
Melissa always communicated clearly and consistently. She never failed to let us know when her visits were scheduled. She also communicated consistently with my husband’s PCP, his wound care specialist, and Medical Supplies representatives. She informed the other visiting wound care Nurses what my spouse’s needs were to ensure that the care was ongoing and consistent. If I was not at home when she visited, she would always follow up with me so that I knew the status of my spouse’s wounds and the treatment that had been administered.
Melissa always was compassionate. She was always gentle, caring, patient, and respectful of my spouse’s discomfort and pain level and tolerance.
Melissa always went above and beyond. If I had a question or concern, she always welcomed my calls and made time to speak with me. She also worked with the medical supply representative to find comparable wound care supplies that would be covered by my husband’s insurance so we would not have out-of-pocket medical expenses. When an order was placed she would monitor the delivery so that we always had the correct dressings needed for each dressing change. Finally, when the medical supply company sent a significant amount of surplus wound care products, she organized their return, demonstrating responsible stewardship of our insured products, awareness of spiraling health care costs, and responsible case management.
