Charlene, on her break, went out to buy some hypoallergenic bath products.
There are at least three instances that demonstrate the difference Charlene made in my wife’s care. My wife was on the unit for 13-days. Her condition was painful, and she was exhausted each day. After a week she needed to shower. This would take prep time because she was wearing a PICC line and a JP line for her abscess.
Charlene, on her break, went out to buy some hypoallergenic bath products. The shower greatly improved my wife’s mood and comfort level. A few days later my wife required feminine hygiene products. Without hesitation, Charlene, again, went out on her break to purchase these items.
Finally of note, Charlene stepped in to clarify a confusing doctor's order regarding my wife’s temp. Charlene acted in a clear and assertive manner. It took two or three conversations before she reached the doctor, who spoke to my wife to clarify the order.
Thank you, Charlene, for being like a family, and advocating for my wife. Thank you for adding comfort and sensitivity to my wife’s healing process.
Note: This is Charlene's 2nd DAISY Award!
