Miranda is one of the most compassionate nurses I have met. Her outstanding clinical skills and knowledge along with her intentionality allow for her to go above and beyond in caring for her patients and to have a special touch on their lives. Recently, we've had a PICU patient diagnosed with cancer. When he was no longer able to speak, Miranda (with the parent's permission) printed out a photo of him and made a list of his favorite songs, what he wants to be when he grows up, his favorite foods, and some of his favorite memories that he had shared with her. It was a heartwarming gesture that not only allowed for a continued personal connection with the patient but with his family as well. Being able to talk with the family about his favorite memories and foods was so special and brought a smile to their faces every single time. Miranda's compassion and enthusiasm for providing excellent care is inspiring, and she truly makes a difference in her patient's lives each and every day.
