When you picture the nurse you’d want to care for your family, Carley is the ultimate! I had the fortune of being trained by this voracious RN in the MICU. Our day always began with meticulous ‘personal cares’, assessing the patient’s room, skin, sheets, positioning, pain and always removing mitts to wash hands and apply lotion. This extra attention to patient dignity is something that every RN could learn from. Clinically, I learned more in 6 weeks than I had in the previous 6 months, tenacious attention to orders, doctor’s notes, and charting led me to see/predict patient trends, changes or needs. This skill allowed docs and other providers to operate with the highest level of care. I observed Carley’s compassion for human life and passion for the science of nursing. She is such a smart, professional nurse who leads by example. An absolute asset to our team!
