What can we say about Colby…there are so many things. She gets B, really gets her. She helps her see the brighter side and the positives even though we have trouble trying to see it ourselves. She is also real and doesn’t sugarcoat things. We trust her, her personality is one of a kind. Because of the masks, we haven’t gotten to see her smile, but she projects it when she walks into the room. Colby and B share conversations about their dogs, movies, food, pop culture, family, and B’s school. She was the first one to get B up to wash her hair. Even though it was in the bed, Colby gave her confidence and earned B’s trust to allow her to do it. B threw up on her one day--Colby acted like it wasn’t a big deal and made her feel like it was completely normal. She made B feel safe and that things were going to be OK. Colby is B’s FAVORITE Nurse. We have A LOT of good ones, but Colby is the icing on the cake. As a parent, she has helped put our minds at ease. We are blessed to have her and every time we come to ICU we request her over and over as our #1 pick because, to us, she is #1!
