Kristine took it upon herself to go out to the pharmacy to purchase the required meds and then administer them, thus resolving the dilemma.
My spouse and I live in a life care community. My spouse was released from the hospital after an ablation procedure. As a result, both of us were confined to our apartment, following the rules of our community for isolation after hospital visits. My spouse was suffering from severe constipation – seven days since leaving the hospital. I was not allowed to leave our apartment and the medical personnel was not able to help us because we were classified as “independent” living. Therefore, I was not allowed to get out to get medications to relieve her problem. This nurse took it upon herself to go out to the pharmacy to purchase the required meds and then administer them, thus resolving the dilemma. This nurse went above and beyond her normal duty to help us in time of dire need.
