Lisa was able to identify with my circumstances and calmly reassured me that everything was going to be alright.
I arrived at the ED in Harrison late Wednesday night after breaking up a fight between my two German Shepherds. I had several severe injuries as a result and Lisa, also being a multiple dog owner, was able to truly empathize with my situation and compassionately provided “psychological first aid” while she was treating me.   As a retired police officer of 31 years, I know how important that can be for a patient who has just experienced a traumatic event. Lisa was able to identify with my circumstances and calmly reassured me that everything was going to be alright, despite the fact that I had to discuss putting my dream dog down because her attacks had been getting progressively worse.   In the end, my other shepherd suffered only minor injuries and I did end up having to put my other sweet dog down.   Without Lisa’s wonderful and genuine bedside manner, the night would have been far more heart-wrenching than it was already turning out to be. I might also add that I had just learned that my mother had passed away the night before. Nurses like Lisa make difficult times like this far more bearable. That night, I was blessed to have her caring for me. Thanks, Lisa! And God Bless You!
