Odetta has truly touched my life. I have been a patient many times and the hospital is not an unfamiliar place to me. I have had my fair share of nurses and doctors, so please believe me when I say that I have never encountered a nurse, or person, like Odetta. She is a true Angel. She didn’t treat me like a diagnosis, or another patient room number, she treated me like a human being. Odetta made me feel like I was her only patient, and when she was with me, I felt like the most important person to her. She listened to my concerns and really heard them. She took the time to sit with me and discuss anything and everything that I wanted to go over. She advocated for me and took care of all my concerns seamlessly. She inspired me to look at my health with a “glass half full” attitude and really take control of my life. Being a nurse is obviously her true calling. I truly felt safe and ultimately loved when Odetta was around. It’s hard to put it into words, but it feels like Odetta has touched my soul and I feel that she may even be my Guardian Angel. Because of the way she made me feel, I now feel inspired to apply for nursing school so that I can impact others as she has impacted me.
