Katelyn stayed by my daughter’s side as the epidural was placed. She held her hand and did everything she could do to give V comfort.
My daughter came into labor and delivery unexpectedly following a doctor’s appointment. We were both scared and very concerned with unknown answers and questions we were afraid to ask. We were fortunate enough to have Katelyn as our nurse. Katelyn did everything in her power to set us at ease during the start of her induction. She made sure each procedure was described in a way we could understand, as well as describing the anticipated outcome of the procedure.
Katelyn held V’s hand during the epidural insertion, and when the Pitocin was started, she spoke about what we could expect next. Katelyn stayed by my daughter’s side as the epidural was placed. She held her hand and did everything she could do to give V comfort while honoring her wishes of no narcotics. When it came time for V to push, if Katelyn wasn’t in a uniform, you would have thought she was a family member cheering my daughter on. I have 7 grandchildren, 6 of whom I was present for their birth. This birth was by far the best experience, in spite of complications with both mommy and baby. Katelyn made all the difference.
