My mother was moved to the ICU, where she could peacefully pass away. Julie was her primary nurse. The situation was quite stressful for me and my family, as we tried to navigate and respect the COVID regulations and visitor restrictions. It was also difficult learning my Mother’s time with us was short. Julie was amazing. I’ve never seen anyone work so hard. She never stopped moving, but always had a quick smile or a warm word, and sometimes a shared laugh, but all the while performing her tasks and procedures with the utmost care and professionalism. She offered me and my family compassion that was truly genuine. She treated us not like visitors but more like friends. During one of my family’s most difficult times, her behavior, attitude, and compassion made a world of difference.
