I was really struggling one day recently and had asked to get a PRN natural medication, a hot cup of chamomile tea. Nicole went and prepared that for me. Once it was ready she explained to me that she had to do a report very soon! We then went into the dining room and she sat and talked with me while I drank it. She asked me how I was doing and I told her I was really struggling. She then asked what was going on and if there was anything she might be able to do that could help. I explained the best I could what had happened and what/how I was thinking, how I was feeling, and any behaviors that I wanted to or had used. She was very patient and listened to what I had to say. After hearing me she validated me by saying she recognized those feelings and had experienced them as well and could see my side of the story. She also helped me process some about how I was thinking and offered some suggestions and advice about how I could try and work through it. Overall, Nicole took the time to listen to me, heard my concerns, and validated what I was thinking and how I was feeling.
