Theresa's passion, empathy, and outstanding character attributes consistently excel in many challenging, difficult, and complex situations.
It’s difficult to choose just one example of how Teresa goes above and beyond, as she does this for every patient she interacts with. Her communication is clear, informative, and empathetic both with patients and colleagues alike. Her dedication to helping the patient make informed decisions about their health and feel supported during the process is unmatched. It has been a pleasure working with Teresa; the Oncology and Hematology team is lucky to have her!

The oncology Infusion Department at Delta Hospital is filled with exceptional infusion nurses, who care tirelessly with compassion and concern for each cancer patient that comes in for consistent chemotherapy appointments and other treatment. If this award was not for pointing out one very special honorable mention I would have a number of very kind and knowledgeable nurses that took care of me when I was undergoing treatment, however; this award is for honoring internationally one very special nurse and celebrating her excellence that outshines all others.
Theresa's passion, empathy, and outstanding character attributes consistently excel in many challenging, difficult, and complex situations. The battle I had with cancer was a challenging one, and although I was not trying to make things difficult, the complexity of what physical challenges I was dealing with and overcoming involved me asking many detailed questions and needing a lot of assistance with often daily morning phone calls to get expert advice and direction for how to move out for that day’s plan. Theresa was not only there with a smile on her face, or in her voice, she was extremely patient and provided very wise counsel to help navigate this patient through unchartered waters. I thank God for all she did that gave me one on one special, dependable reinforcement and support.
This professional relationship began with several phone calls to Delta hospital prior to even going there for treatment; it was there that I met Theresa (over the phone for the very first time). I am a very detailed oriented person, who asks a lot of questions and does her homework before making decisions and I made a multitude of calls to her and with each call and inquiry made I was favorably impressed with her knowledge and her professional yet caring demeanor. When getting there and meeting her for the first time, it was like meeting someone I already knew. I must say that speaking with all the people I did at Delta prior to coming there for treatment, I was very pleased and impressed with how caring and forthcoming they were to help me learn what I needed to find out and set a treatment plan. They all provided me reassurance, but Theresa is one that I continued to call back over and over again and she throughout all the many times I have had dealings with her, (now approximately six months) she has been consistent, faithful, competent, and reliable to follow up and return calls and get back with you; in an environment where she is very busy but it is imperative, as we are talking about life and death issues, Theresa is exceptional!
