Ashley is a stable ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air representing wellness and hope.
Ashley is an exceptional nurse that works for Riverside Home Health Agency. Over the past couple of years, she has cared for all three members of my immediate family. My mom is battling Stage 4 Cancer, my brother (an only sibling) had four strokes over the past 1 ½ years, and my dad just had major surgery and is in the midst of recovering from an infection. Both parents are in and out of Riverside Hospital and my brother and parents go to multiple doctor appointments and tests. I am the caregiver for all three of my family members.
Every day seems like a challenge for us. Ashley is a stable ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air representing wellness and hope. Above all the skilled nursing care, she is always checking in on my family. Ashley repeatedly calls me on her day off or answers her phone at her son’s ballgame or child’s doctor’s appointment (while they are in the waiting room). The point is she takes the call and then we touch base when she is freed up even on her time off, but she is there for us. She is selfless and encouraging.
Ashley saw that mom had an infection that no one else mentioned, she noticed dad’s wound didn’t look just right (it was infected). She helped my brother to learn about eating healthier after his stroke. She takes time to really listen, observe, and inspect. When I am so overwhelmed, Ashley is the one I call to ask, “What should I do?” She advised me to call the ambulance or call the doctor to request a prescription. Ashley helped me through some tough days when my whole family is sick and struggling. When I have been so stressed and felt like I would explode, Ashley was a calming voice with steady advice. Ashley is my DAISY, and she certainly has been and is the DAISY for my family.
